Hair Care part 3: Home Remedies to get Beautiful Hair

If spending too much money on expensive shampoos and high-end hair treatments isn’t your thing

Just open your  refrigerator and cabinets and give your hair the treatment it needs !

The following ingredients will strengthen, soften and moisturize your hair  :)

_______________________________________________________________________

Mayonnaise

To make your hair look : shinny and moisturized.

Where to find it:  on any grocery store in your town.

  1. Spread 1/2 cup of  mayonnaise through your hair,  cover  and massage from root to ends like you do with your conditioner.
  2. Cover your hair with a shower cap . Leave-in for 15 minutes.
  3. Then rinse with cold water.
  4. Shampoo and Conditioner, as you normally do.
I’ve done it and a friend too! And it really works! Just make sure to thoroughly wash your hair afterwards, otherwise it will smell… weird.

You can sleep with it all night, for best results. Just make sure your hair is perfectly covered.

Coconut Oil

To make your hair look: shinny and soft.

Where to find it : at the “all natural” stores around your town, you can also find it on grocery stores in the cooking oil aisles.

If you LOVE to blow-dry and flat-iron your hair on a daily basis, this is a must-do procedure !  :)

Coconut oil (love the smell) penetrates your hair depositing essential oils back into your hair  and will leave it  bouncy, shiny and soft!😀

  1. Spread 3 or 4 tablespoons, from the half to the ends of your hair. ( I wouldn’t recommend to apply too much to your head directly, because it can leave your scalp feeling oily)
  2. Distribute evenly .You can use your fingers  or  a wide-tooth comb .
  3. Cover your hair with a shower cap. Leave-in  for 2 hours.
  4. Rinse with cold water. It may take a while to rinse completely ( don’t get desperate… you will  love the results😀 )
  5. Shampoo and Conditioner, as you normally do.
This REALLY works !!!!🙂

You can sleep with it all night, for best results. Just make sure your hair is perfectly covered.

Avocado

To make your hair look : moisturized and hydrated

Where to find it: at any grocery store or  at your local fruit and veggies store.

(I just had the BIGGEST guacamole craving now !!!! )

Avocado is  full of nutrients; that and the creamy oil of the avocado makes  a super-moisturizing hair treatment that will leave your hair look and feel  silky and repaired.

  1. Mash 1 or 2 avocados in a bowl.
  2.  Add 2 tablespoons of either Coconut Oil or Olive Oil. Mix it.
  3. Distribute evenly in your wet hair with your fingers. Massage.
  4. Cover your hair with a shower cap. Leave-in for 45 minutes.
  5. Rinse with warm or cold water.
  6. Shampoo and Conditioner, as you normally do.
I did this once and my hair felt really  smooth🙂
Try it !

Egg Yolks

To make your hair look:  shinny and soft. It also reduces hair loss.

Where to find it: at any grocery store.

The Egg Yolk will immediately have a beneficial effect on dry hair,  it most be applied  at least once a week.

  1. Beat the yolks of 3 or 4 eggs  with a fork in a bowl.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil and 1 cup of water. Mix.
  3. Distribute evenly on your wet hair with your fingers. From roots to ends.
  4. Cover your hair with a shower cap. Leave-in for 15 minutes.
  5. Rinse with warm water
  6. Shampoo and Conditioner, as you normally do.

Olive Oil

To make your  hair look :  shinny and treats split ends.

Where to find it: on any grocery store.

Mediterranean women have been using Olive Oil to treat their hair for a long time !
It’s a great alternative to expensive Conditioners !

  1. Pour half a cup of Olive Oil into a microwave safe bowl. Heat to 30 to 40 seconds.
  2. Make sure it’s not too hot, if so WAIT until it cools a little.
  3. Wear a shirt you can stain! (the ones’ you wear to clean your room haha..)
  4. Put a small amount of olive oil in the palm of your hand and massage from the roots to the ends of your hair. ( If you have split ends, add more oil to them, than the rest of the hair )
  5. Cover your hair with a shower cap. Leave-in for 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse your hair with cold water.
  7. Wash thoroughly with your regular shampoo and conditioner. Repeat if the oil doesn’t rinse completely.
It REALLY works for split ends !
